Freya is a passionate speech pathologist who enjoys working alongside children and their families in an fun, meaningful and supportive way. She has worked across Perth, regional WA and the United Kingdom. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathology) from Curtin University and is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with Speech Pathology Australia.
Freya has extensive experience working in multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary models of practice to support children and adolescents with complex needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability (ID), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Natural Language Acquisition (Gestalt Language Processing), Selective Mutism and mental health concerns such depression and anxiety.
Her areas of interest include early language, complex communication, AAC, stuttering, social skills, emotional regulation and behaviour supports.
Freya aims to support children and families in a neuroaffirming, holistic and strengths-based approach and has a keen interest in collaborating with families, schools and all other key stakeholders to achieve success and wellbeing across all of the child’s environments and activities.
Outside of work, Freya enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new places to eat, the beach and travelling.
