Every child develops at their own pace, but you may notice some signs that your child may benefit from speech therapy. Difficulties with pronunciation, understanding instructions, or forming sentences are some signs to look out for. You may also notice specific speech issues that need correcting. However, consultation and assessment with our speech pathologist in Nedlands is the best way to know whether your child requires intervention.
This all depends on your child’s individual needs. Therapy can range from a few months to several years, depending on a range of factors. Because every child is different, there is no set amount of time they’ll need speech therapy. However, our therapy plans are flexible and adaptable to your child’s needs, ensuring they continually make progress.
Speech therapy rebates can be claimed with private health insurers. Your rebate will depend on your level of cover. Medicare rebates may also be available under a Medicare subsidized Health Care Plan (accessed via your General Practitioner).

Absolutely, it’s completely normal for children to feel shy. Kids often develop social skills at a different pace, and that’s totally fine. Our experienced speech pathologists create a safe, welcoming environment where children feel comfortable. We also understand children’s needs, which is why we take the time to get to know your child. Gradually building trust and familiarity, we’re confident we can make a positive connection with your child.
Not at all! Speech and language skills require practise and develop over time. We can work with you to build these skills to ensure they become easier for your child.
